Research Question: Jean Adam(above) asked Anne Adam
d 1688-1736 Lauzon, Quebec, to be the godmother of his daughter Marie
Anne Adam born in 1687, birth record shown above.
Anne Adam was the wife of Jean Poliquin, and was a "Fille du Roi"
or "King's Daughter who were sent to New France by King Louis XIV
of France, to marry and start families in an attempt to further populate
New France. She is documented as having married Jean Poliquin in 7 Nov
1671.
Her parents are listed as Corneille Adam and Michelle DeLaCourt. My question
is what relation Anne Adam is to Jean Adam? Cousins, brother & sister,
from the same region in France, etc. ? There has to be some relation in
order for Jean to ask her to be godmother of one of his children. If anyone
has any information on this, please let me know what you think. Drop me
an email.
